Meaningful stakeholder engagement in practice: Insights from India, Indonesia and Eastern Europe

Feb 9, 2026 | 11:30 AM - 12:30 PM

Description

Organised by Fair Wear, Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, Green Button, CNV International Meaningful stakeholder engagement (MSE) must be continuous, reciprocal, and based on good faith; yet many companies still struggle to engage directly with their stakeholders. To help bridge this gap, Fair Wear, together with partners such as CNV Internationaal and the Partnership for Sustainable Textiles, carried out a series of MSE Pilots across India, Indonesia, and Eastern Europe. In this session, the organisers will walk through the practical, collective approach that they tested with brands - connecting them to trade unions, civil society organisations, business associations and suppliers in each region. The session will highlight key lessons learned and concrete examples from the three pilots, showing how structured engagement led to risk prioritisation and helped identify stakeholder-informed mitigation actions.
