Strengthening the credibility of social compliance audits has never been more critical, as companies face growing regulatory and stakeholder expectations. Rather than debating whether audits “work,” this session asks what it takes to make them work better through governance, trust-building, and professional accountability, and positions social compliance audits clearly as one tool within companies’ broader due diligence systems.
Drawing on insights from APSCA, amfori, brands, auditors, and regulatory stakeholders, panelists will explore how continuous professional development, robust examinations, disciplinary frameworks, and independent oversight can close performance gaps, address integrity risks, and support auditors navigating complex issues such as undisclosed subcontracting, retaliation, and coercion.
