From principles to practice: Addressing caste and advancing nondiscrimination in supply chains

Feb 10, 2026 | 10:45 AM - 12:15 PM

Description

Organised by Fair Labor Association (FLA), National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN) and Arisa Nondiscrimination is a cornerstone of responsible business conduct and a central component of effective human rights due diligence. Yet discrimination and unequal treatment, whether on the basis of caste, ethnicity, gender, religion, or migrant status, remain pervasive risks across global supply chains. These forms of bias often remain hidden, unreported, or under-addressed, leading to systemic barriers to equal opportunity, decent work, and fair treatment for millions of workers. This session, hosted by the Fair Labor Association (FLA) in collaboration with the International Dalit Solidarity Network (IDSN), the National Campaign on Dalit Human Rights (NCDHR), and Arisa, will shed light on a persistent yet often overlooked form of discrimination: caste-based discrimination.
