Description
Saeed Ghani is a Pakistani Politician who is currently Provincial Minister for Labour, Human Resources & Social Protection Departments, Government of Sindh. He is member of the Pakistan Peoples Party & is presently the Party President for the Karachi Division.
He was elected as Chairman Union Council, Chanesar Goth, District East, Karachi twice from 2001-2010. He was the Leader of the Opposition in City District Council Karachi from 2002-2010.
He remained member of the Senate of Pakistan from March 2012 to August 2017. He was Parliamentary leader of PPPP in Senate of Pakistan from 2015-2017.
He was elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as candidate of the PPP from Constituency PS-114 (Karachi-XXVI) in by-Polls held in July 2017. He was re-elected to the Provincial Assembly of Sindh as a candidate of PPP from the Constituency PS-104 (Karachi East-VI) in the General Elections of 2018.
In August 2018, he was inducted into the Provincial Cabinet of Sindh & was sworn as Provincial Minister of Sindh for Local Government & Housing Town Planning with the additional Ministerial Portfolios of Public Health Engineering and Rural Development, and Human Settlement Departments. On 5th August 2019, his Ministerial Portfolios were changed to Labour, Information and Archives Departments.
His Ministerial Portfolios were changed to Education, Literacy, Labour & Human Resources Departments on 3rd February 2020. On 5th August 2021, his Portfolios were again changed to Labour & Human Resources Department.
After being Re-elected on PS-105 (Karachi East-IX) in the General Elections held on 8th Feb 2024, he took oath as Provincial Minister for Local Govt, Housing Town Planning, Public Health Engineering & Rural Development Departments on 12th March 2024. His Portfolios changed to Labour ,Human Resources & Social Protection Departments, Government of Sindh on 26 September 2025 & he holds these portfolios till date.
