Patricia Alvares is the Secretary for Public Integrity at Brazil’s Office of the Comptroller General (CGU). A PhD candidate in Public Policy, she holds a Master’s in Governance and Development (ENAP). She is a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) and Certified Government Auditing Professional (CGAP), accredited by The Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA).
Since 2008, Patricia has served as a Federal Auditor of Finance and Control and has held several leadership roles in the Brazilian federal public administration, including Chief of Staff of the Federal Secretariat of Internal Control, Chief Auditor of ICMBio, and Head of Special Office for Internal Control at the Ministry of Culture and the Ministry of Planning and Budget.
She also served as a member of the Internal Control Coordination Commission (CCCI) and was curator of the GIRC Network (Governance, Integrity, Risk, and Internal Controls).
