Lawyer and Bachelor of Legal and Social Sciences from the University of Chile. She holds a Master’s degree in Management with a specialization in Control from the Pontifical Catholic University of Valparaíso, and a Master’s degree in Management and Public Policy from the Adolfo Ibáñez University.
She also completed a Diploma in Economic Administrative Law with three specializations: Economic Regulation, Public Services, and Environment, at the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile; a Diploma in Artificial Intelligence at the same university; and a Diploma in Fraud Prevention, Detection, and Investigation from the University of Chile.
For over 10 years, she has taught postgraduate courses at various universities in Administrative Law, Audit, and Control.
She joined the Office of the Comptroller General of the Republic in 2004 as a reporting lawyer for Committee 3 of the former Division of Housing, Urban Planning, Public Works, and Transport, now the Infrastructure and Regulation Division. She then served as a reporting lawyer at the Regional Comptroller’s Office of Magallanes and the Chilean Antarctic (2005–2006), and as Head of the former Unit for Registration and Approval (2007), now UPAE, at the Valparaíso regional office.
In December 2007, she was appointed Regional Comptroller of Valparaíso, a position she held until 2010. She was later promoted to Deputy Head of the Administrative Audit Division, a role she held for nearly four years, before becoming Head of the Companies Committee in the Legal Division.
From March 2014 to December 2015, she served as Head of the Legal Division at the Ministry of Education. In January 2016, she returned to the Comptroller’s Office as Chief of Staff to the Comptroller General, and on 12 September 2016 assumed the position of Deputy Comptroller General and Accounts Judge. Subsequently, following a vacancy, she served as Acting Comptroller General of the Republic from 18 December 2023 to 5 November 2024.
Following her nomination by H.E. the President of the Republic, Gabriel Boric Font, and ratification by the Honorable Senate, Dorothy Pérez Gutiérrez has held the position of Comptroller General of the Republic since 6 November 2024, for the term 2024–2032.
