Description
Organised by Stand.earth and Oxfam in Bangladesh
Bangladesh is the seventh most climate vulnerable nation worldwide, and the second biggest exporter of textiles. Fashion brands have a due diligence responsibility to cease, prevent, or mitigate harm in their own supply chains. In the case of climate harms, acting on this responsibility means developing new systems of responsible supply chain partnership which actively support and enable a just energy transition that does not disadvantage manufacturers or further harm workers.
Stand.earth, Oxfam in Bangladesh and Bangladesh Centre for Worker Solidarity have been consulting with key stakeholders in Bangladesh to develop the Fashion Brand Just Energy Transition Roadmap, which will identify key actions and conditions for brands to actively enable a just energy transition that supports workers. In this session, the organisations will set out the key tenets of the Roadmap, reviewing how brands can make the just energy transition a reality in Bangladesh.
