Description
Organised by Asia Floor Wage Alliance and Global Labor Justice
The Central Java Agreement for Gender Justice (CJA) is the second enforceable supply chain agreement in Asia to address GBVH in the garment industry, building on lessons from the Dindigul and Lesotho agreements. Anchored in freedom of association, collective bargaining, and women-worker–led monitoring and enforcement, the CJA creates a binding mechanism to prevent and remedy GBVH at the factory level while requiring brands and suppliers to uphold commitments aligned with ILO C190. Panelists — including women workers, union leaders, and global labour and gender justice experts — will examine how the CJA operationalizes meaningful human rights due diligence and enforces labour standards through collective power on the shop floor. The session will also explore what this model means for supply chain governance, showing how binding, union-led frameworks strengthen HRDD beyond audits and voluntary compliance models.
