Costing national adaptation plans for scaled-up action

OnlineNov 5, 2026 | 2:30 PM - 4:00 PM

Description

Most countries have an adaptation planning instrument in place, yet implementation continues to lag behind growing climate risks. Effective implementation requires a clear understanding of investment needs, well-defined responsibilities, and mechanisms to monitor progress and ensure accountability. Costing adaptation can help bridge the gap between planning and implementation by providing an estimate of the investment needs and supporting governments in prioritising and allocating resources. In this session panellists will discuss practical approaches to estimating adaptation costs, creating the enabling conditions for scaled-up action, across sectors and levels of government.
