Over the last few years, governments have accelerated the pace of their digitalisation. The COVID-19 crisis further increased the pressure on governments to rapidly develop and deploy new digital tools. Such tools include e-government services to pay taxes or obtain administrative documents, as citizens were often unable to access public services due to strict sanitary measures (e.g. lockdown, social distancing).
