How Can Competition Authorities Leverage AI Technologies?

This workshop will explore how AI-based solutions and tools can be adopted by Competition Authorities to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of their work. Participants will explore the various use cases for AI within competition authorities through the sharing of examples already implemented. The workshop will also focus on good practices for implementing AI-based solutions, such as appropriate governance provisions, as well as providing a platform to discuss how to overcome some of the practical challenges, including acquiring appropriate skills, maintaining security and privacy of data, and achieving scale and adoption across the organisation.

Effective Remedy Design in Merger Control

This workshop will help competition officials deepen their understanding of emerging trends in merger remedies and explore what makes these remedies truly effective. The event will highlight the importance of co-operation between competition authorities, collaboration with sector regulators and constructive dialogue with private stakeholders to design solutions that genuinely restore competition. The workshop will also offer a space to exchange practical experiences, strengthen international networks and distil concrete takeaways that participants can apply directly in their merger control work.
