Description

Dr. Safiétou SANFO is an Agricultural Economist at the WASCAL Competence Center and associate professor at the University Thomas Sankara, Ouagadougou, Burkina. She holds a PhD in Economics from Paris 1, Sorbonne University, France. Dr. Safiétou SANFO is the coordinator of the WASCAL regional thematic on Rural Urban and Cross Border Migration. Her research interests lie in climate change economics. In recent years, she has focused on African farming system, rural urban and cross border migration, resilience and poverty alleviation, agricultural policies and impact evaluation using bio-economic and mathematical programming modelling, governance, institutions and nature-based solution and Bio-circular Economy. Safiétou Sanfo has experience in teaching in Development Economics, Food security, Agricultural economics, Agri-Business, Sustainable Development. She is the author and co-author of publications on international peer reviewed. Safietou Sanfo has received several research grants and professional awards, including the AVhi, the LIRA climate change and SDGS, ADA/Research Meets Africa Awards. She is actively involved in several research, action and development projects, but also in climate and environmental service co-production and delivery. She is Associate Editor of « Emerging Science Journals, Life Science» Change and Adaptation in Socio-Ecological Systems (CASES), De Gruyter Open (April 2014 to present) and Member of the Advisory Board of the Swedish international program of training on Climate change, mitigation and adaptation.
