H.E. Mr. HEM Vanndy Minister Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (CAMBODIA) H.E. HEM Vanndy’s career spans across the private sector, the United Nations system, multilateral development bank and government. His career journey and devotion to public services have now led him to assume the esteemed position of Minister of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI) of the Kingdom of Cambodia. Prior to his appointment as Minister of MISTI, he served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, looking after development financing, coordination and management of ODA (both strategy and operation), public debt management and supporting Cambodia’s key policy agenda. He has coordinated a number of inter-ministerial mechanisms that tackled major infrastructures and urbanization challenges facing Cambodia. Minister Vanndy is also Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Khmer Enterprise, a member of the Supreme National Economic Council, and former Chair of the Country Coordinating Committee for the Global Fund program to fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria in Cambodia for 5 years. He obtained his Mid-Career Master of Public Administration (Mason Fellow) from Harvard Kennedy School of Government in 2014, Master of Arts in International Development from International University of Japan in 2002, and Bachelor of Business Administration from then National Institute of Management (Cambodia) in 1999. He taught Public Sector Innovation classes for graduates and executives. Minister Vanndy is married with two daughters.
