Henry Curr has led The Economist’s economics coverage since 2018, through the covid-19 pandemic, the return of inflation, Europe's energy crisis of 2022, the American banking crisis of 2023 and the Trump trade war of 2025. He writes the bulk of The Economist’s economics leaders (editorials), and has done so for dozens of cover stories. He often writes the annual world economy special report. He is co-host of the monthly “Inside Economics” video show and podcast and his short-form videos on economics have over 10m views across platforms.
Henry’s journalism has cited by policymakers and academics in Europe and America, and he is a past winner of the Society of Professional Economists’ Rybczynski Prize for economics writing.
