Description
Dora Demszky is an Assistant Professor at the Stanford Graduate School of Education, with a courtesy appointment in Computer Science. She leads the EduNLP lab and uses natural language processing and computational methods to support student-centered teaching, teacher learning, and equitable classroom discourse. Her work has been published in top venues for education, computational linguistics and psychology, including ACL, EMNLP, NAACL, Educational Researcher, Computers & Education, Nature Reviews Psychology and AERA Open, and has earned best paper/dataset prizes. Her research is supported by grants from the Gates Foundation, the National Science Foundation, Stanford HAI, and others. She received her Ph.D. in Linguistics from Stanford and a B.A. in Linguistics summa cum laude with a minor in Computer Science from Princeton.
