The 7th International PIAAC Conference, co-organised by the OECD Secretariat and the Spanish Ministry of Education, Vocational Training and Sports, will explore how data from the Programme for the International Assessment of Adult Competencies (PIAAC) can better inform policy and inspire impactful research. With newly released data from its second cycle, PIAAC provides unique international data on adult skills – such as literacy, numeracy, and problem solving – supporting evidence-based decisions in workforce development, lifelong learning, and social inclusion.
The conference will bring together researchers, national policy makers, social partners, and business representatives to discuss how PIAAC can address key challenges like skills shortages, youth transitions, low adult skills, and gender gaps. It will also look ahead to how the survey must develop to education and labour market policies in the future.
Sessions will feature PIAAC-based research insights, followed by high-level policy discussions connecting evidence to action.
