Description
Mauricio Cabrera Leal is Vice-Minister of Environmental Policy and Standardisation of Colombia.
He is a geologist from the Federal University of Amazonas (Brazil) and a specialist in Remote Sensing from the CIAF. Cabrera has professional experience as an advisor for different entities of the National Government in the formulation of policies and instruments of environmental management; sectoral and mining-environmental aspects, as well as in monitoring the design of measures and environmental compliance of mining-energy and infrastructure macro-projects in Colombia and Ecuador. He has been coordinator of the updating of the Biodiversity Action Plan, influencing the productive and environmental sectors, and has experience in the resolution of environmental conflicts with sustainable alternatives for social and community organisations, ethnic and peasant groups, strengthening their governance and the exercise of their rights.
