Sahrul is a resident of Kabaena Island who has felt the impact of the presence of mining on Kabaena Island. Together with several friends he founded the Sagori NGO, a local NGO on Kabaena Island that has advocated environmental issues, especially mining, and socio-cultural issues and other government policies on Kabaena Island since 2006 until now.
