Description
Setsuko Saya has been the Deputy Director of OECD Development Centre (OECD/DEV) since 1 February 2024. Ms. Saya engages in diverse policy areas for sustainable development in developing countries, including finance, climate change, quality infrastructure, natural resource, disaster risk reduction, and gender. Ms. Saya started her professional career at the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism in Japan. She has been dedicated to international cooperation throughout her career, and worked at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cabinet Office. She was the Head of the Regional Policies for Sustainable Development in the OECD 2012-2016. Ms. Saya has an MBA from the University of California at Berkeley, and a Bachelor’s Degree in law from the University of Tokyo.
