Description

Londeka is a sustainability leader in the mining sector and an advocate for responsible business practices. She currently manages the delivery of Anglo American’s sustainability certifications programme, which includes audits for international sustainability standards like IRMA, Copper Mark and ISO. Over the last seven years, she has held operational environmental roles in South Africa and Chile; worked on big data projects to deliver predictive environmental monitoring; and led on the delivery of the Group’s annual Sustainability Report and submissions to external ESG rankings and ratings indices. Londeka holds a Masters degree from the University of Cape Town and a Masters degree from the University of Oxford, funded through the Chevening scholarship. Her leadership abilities were recognised by her award as one of the Mail & Guardian Top 200 Young South Africans under the Environment category based on her contributions towards enhancing and transforming environmental governance. She is an alumnus of the UN SDG innovator programme, a Women in Mining Steering Committee member, and a panellist speaker on forums focused on transparency and disclosures, sustainability standards integration, and the inclusion of young people in the mining sector.
