Ramiro López Ghio has served as the Country Representative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) Group in Colombia since May 2023. He previously held the same position in Belize, where he was responsible for managing the IDB Group’s dialogue with government authorities and the private sector, preparing and programming the country strategy, and overseeing the execution of the IDB Group’s operations in Belize. Prior to that, he served as Head of Operations at the IDB Country Office in Colombia (2018–2020). Dr. López Ghio holds a Ph.D. in Business from the Institute of Governance and Public Management at Warwick Business School (United Kingdom). He also has a Master’s degree in International Political Economy from the University of Warwick, as well as a Master’s and a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Torcuato di Tella University and the National University of La Plata (Argentina). He is an Argentine citizen.
