Sandra Perdomo holds a degree in Government and Political Science with a double major in International Relations from Universidad del Rosario, and a specialization in Economics from Universidad de los Andes. She has a Master's in Development Management from the University of Bradford and a Master's in Comparative Social Policy from the University of Oxford.
She currently leads the Public Policy and Cooperation Division at the Alexander von Humboldt Institute for Biological Resources Research, where she heads the science-policy-society interface—ensuring that scientific knowledge effectively contributes to public decision-making and fosters a more harmonious relationship between people and nature.
She has served as an advisor to national and regional governments on public policy, particularly in social issues, peacebuilding, and institutional strengthening. She has also worked as a consultant for organizations such as the IDB, UNDP, KfW, and USAID.
