Jul 8, 2025 | 3:30 PM - 5:00 PM

Puerta de Oro - Deep dive room 4

Description

This side event brings together regional investment promotion agencies from Colombia’s Caribbean region — ProBarranquilla, Invest in Cartagena, ProMontería, ProSantaMarta, and ProSincelejo — to explore how subnational collaboration can drive sustainable territorial development. As active members of Red Invest, Colombia’s national network of regional investment agencies, these institutions promote the Caribbean as a competitive destination for direct investment. The session is designed as a global-local dialogue with OECD experts to explore how foreign direct investment (FDI) can generate quality employment, strengthen human capital, and create inclusive economic ecosystems. Thematic blocks will include: Sustainable Foreign Direct Investment & Public-Private Collaboration: How FDI strategies can align with regional vocations and development potential in the Caribbean. Employment, Skills and Human Capital Development: Challenges and opportunities in linking investment with workforce development and training ecosystems.
