Claudio Orrego LarraÃn, Lawyer and Bachelor in Legal Sciences from the Catholic University of Chile and Master in Public Policy at the Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University. He began his political career in 1996 as a councillor in Peñalolén, later, in 2000, he became President Ricardo Lagos' biminister of Housing and National Assets. Subsequently, he became mayor of Peñalolén in 2004. A decade later, he would be delegated the task of being Intendant of the Metropolitan Region, where he remained in office for four years. He is currently the first elected Regional Governor of the RM.
