Description
Neville Ash is Director of the UN Environment Programme World Conservation Monitoring Centre (UNEP-WCMC), where he provides overall direction, strategy, and leadership for the Centre.
He was recently also interim Executive Secretary of the Intergovernmental Platform for Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES) for a 2nd time, having led the platform at its establishment from 2012-2014.
He was closely engaged in the development of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework and the associated resource mobilisation strategy of the CBD, and has over 25 years of experience working at the international level on biodiversity science, policy and finance.
