Description
Pepukaye Bardouille has worked for over two decades on sustainable development globally. She has served clients in 20+ countries across the infrastructure and public sectors, and on critical socio-economic development imperatives at the intersections of policy, business model, financing and implementation.
As founding Chief Executive Officer of the Climate Resilience Execution Agency for Dominica (CREAD) from 2018-2020, she managed US$350 million in reconstruction funds and led the initial stages of an ambitious plan to rebuild Dominica into a climate resilient nation following the passage of Hurricane Maria, a category 5 storm from which ensued 226% of GDP in losses and damages.
With the International Finance Corporation (IFC) from 2010, she led work to scale-up commercially viable business models for off-grid and mini-grid based electrification in Tanzania, Togo and Zambia, and developed the national electrification strategy for, and was embedded in, the Ministry of Energy of South Africa, and drove new approaches to renewable energy, the water sector and urban resilience project development, primarily in Small Island Developing States.
With McKinsey & Company, she worked across industries on strategy, organisational design and operational transformation.
Currently in the Prime Minister's Office, Barbados, she leads the Bridgetown Initiative and serves as Special Advisor on Climate Resilience.
