Description

Mr. Jin Kim is the Director General for Nuclear Power Plant Strategy and Planning at the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy (MOTIE), Republic of Korea. Prior to this key appointment, he has served in various capacities at MOTIE, including but not limited to, Director General for New Trade Strategy and Policy in 2023, Director, Energy Policy Division in 2021, and Director, Nuclear Power Cooperation Division in 2017. He holds an MBA from the University of North Carolina, USA (2011), along with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering, Seoul National University, Korea (1993).

NEA membership consists of 34 countries representing 80% of the world's installed nuclear electricity generating capacity. The mission of the NEA is to assist its member countries in maintaining and further developing, through international co-operation, the scientific, technological and legal bases required for a safe, environmentally sound and economical use of nuclear energy for peaceful purposes. It strives to provide authoritative assessments and to forge common understandings on key issues as input to government decisions on nuclear energy policy and to broader OECD analyses in areas such as energy and the sustainable development of low carbon economies.
