Description
Franz Tattenbach Capra is a Costa Rican economist, environmentalist, and diplomat. He currently serves as the Minister of Environment and Energy of Costa Rica (MINAE), a role he assumed in 2022. Tattenbach has a long-standing background in sustainable development, environmental economics, and biodiversity conservation. Prior to his ministerial position, he was actively involved in environmental policy through roles in organizations such as FUNDECOR (Foundation for the Development of the Central Volcanic Mountain Range), and served as Costa Rica’s Special Envoy for Climate Change. He has contributed to international climate negotiations and initiatives that promote carbon neutrality, forest conservation, and nature-based solutions.
