Agenda: Opening remarks by MEP Anna Cavazzini, Chair of the Committee on Internal Market and Consumer Protection of the European Parliament Our panel: • Muhammad Azizul Islam, Professor in Sustainability Accounting & Transparency at the University of Aberdeen Business School, co-author of the study Impact of Global Clothing Retailers’ Unfair Practices on Bangladeshi Suppliers During COVID-19 • Sabina Lawreniuk, Research Fellow in the School of Geography at the University of Nottingham, co-author of the report Building Forward Worse. How COVID-19 has accelerated the race to the bottom in the global garment industry • Matthew Anderson and Tamsin Bradley, authors of a research on fair purchasing practices by European SMEs in the textile sector (to be published soon) • Artemisa Ljarja, Urgent Appeals Coordinator at Clean Clothes Campaign, co-author of a research on fast fashion purchasing practices in the EU (to be published soon) The session will be moderated by Judith Kirton-Darling, Deputy General Secretary at IndustriAll Europe.
