Description
President of the National Maritime Museum since 2014 and a writer, Olivier Poivre d’Arvor served as a diplomat in Egypt, Czechoslovakia and the United Kingdom. As Director of France Culture radio, he also held numerous posts in the cultural sector. After serving as Ambassador to Tunis from 2016 to 2020, he was appointed Ambassador for Polar and Maritime Affairs in December 2020. As Special Envoy to the French President of the Republic, he hosted the 3rd United Nations Ocean Conference in Nice in June 2025.
