Ph.D. in Economic History from the University of Barcelona and Economist from the Universidad de la República (Uruguay). H.E. Oddone is a Full Professor of Economic Policy at the University of the Republic, Researcher at Cinve and the Universidad Católica del Uruguay. He was a partner at the consulting firm CPA/Ferrere until 2023. Founder and former President of the Uruguayan think tank Ágora. He has served as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank, the World Bank, CAF – Development Bank of Latin America, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP).
He has published works on political economy, economic growth, and international trade, and is the author of the following books: “El despegue: cómo crecer y distribuir en Uruguay, en la mirada de Gabriel Oddone” (with Nicolás Batalla, Debate, 2024); “Historia institucional del Banco Central del Uruguay” (with Julio de Brun, Ariel Banda, and Juan Andrés Moraes, Ediciones de la Banda Oriental, 2017); and “El declive. Una mirada de la economía de Uruguay del siglo XX” (Linardi y Risso, 2010).
