Biography
Åsa Johansson is the Director of the Policy Studies Research Branch at the OECD Economics Department of the OECD.
Earlier in her career, Ms Johansson joined the OECD in 2004 and has held senior positions at the OECD, including Deputy Director of the OECD Statistics and Data Directorate (SDD) from 2022 to 2024, acting Director of SDD from July to August 2024, as well as Deputy Director of the Policy and Research Branch prior to becoming Director.
A Swedish national, she holds a PhD in Economics from the Institute for International Economic Studies at Stockholm University. Her leadership combines deep analytical expertise with extensive experience in comparative economic policy, making her a central contributor to the OECD’s mission of supporting sound, evidence-based policymaking across countries.
