Description
Geert Bouckaert is emeritus professor of public management at the KU Leuven Public Governance Institute at the KU Leuven University, Leuven, Belgium. Currently, he is chair of the OECD Network of Schools of Government.
He is past-president of the International Institute of Administrative Sciences (IIAS), and of the European Group for Public Administration (EGPA). As vice-chair of the UN/ECOSOC Committee of Experts for Public Administration (CEPA) he focused on SDG16 and the need for strong institutions.
He published in the field of comparative public sector reforms and on different reform dimensions such as performance, co-ordination, trust, and change. He is a member of several journal editorial boards. He is a Fellow of the National Academy of Public Administration (NAPA, USA) and of the Royal Flemish Academy of Belgium for Science and the Arts. He has been awarded several Honorary Doctorates. At KU Leuven he is chair of Leuven University Press.
