Description
Organised by The Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (EITI)
The session will explore how beneficial ownership transparency (BOT) can be incorporated into integrity due diligence processes in contracting and licensing processes to deliver data driven solutions to improve decision making. Licensing integrity due diligence processes can prevent corruption, conflict of interest, the awarding of licenses to politically exposed persons, and prevent noncompliance with eligibility criteria resulting in loss of revenues. Using BOT in the extractives industries as a practical case study, the session will draw on insights from the global Opening Extractives programme that is transforming the availability and supporting use of BO data for accountability in the extractives sector, including in transition minerals sector, including in critical and transition minerals sector. The session will feature practical applications of these solutions in Armenia, Ghana, and Zambia and discuss how these are delivering benefits to governments, citizens and companies.
This session is led by partner organisations and may not reflect the views of the OECD.
