Knowledge Partner Session 07: Customs integrity to power competitiveness and prosperity

Mar 25, 2026 | 9:30 AM - 11:00 AM

Auditorium

Description

Organised by World Customs Organization (WCO) This session will demonstrate how Customs can enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and public trust, and contribute to sustainable growth through integrity and performance initiatives. Moving beyond traditional control approaches, the session will showcase how tools such as the World Customs Organization's (WCO) Performance Measurement Mechanism (PMM), and the Customs Integrity Perception Survey (CIPS) can strengthen governance and data-driven decision-making. These sector-specific efforts echo the UNCAC statistical framework and complement the OECD’s work on Public Integrity Indicators. Drawing also on the ICC–WCO publication ‘Trade Facilitation Recommendations for Enhanced Integrity at Borders,’ the session will illustrate how improved institutional performance and integrity can drive trade, competitiveness, and innovation and build resilience to obstacles such as organised crime.
