Organised by Natural Resource Governance Institute (NRGI) Are critical minerals the next big challenge for anticorruption work? Booming demand, geopolitical tensions, and complicated supply chains are creating significant vulnerabilities in an already high-risk sector. Whether conflict, human rights abuses, environmental degradation, or supply chain instability, the consequences of corruption in this sector go far beyond financial losses. Yet getting the governance of minerals right is essential for a just energy transition. This session will look at the major corruption risks in critical mineral supply chains today. A diverse range of experts across two panels will set out the political and market dynamics at play, the evidence of where risks are emerging, specific case studies, lessons learned so far, and proposed solutions for the anticorruption community to take forward.
