Side Event: Implementing OECD Anti-Bribery Convention and advancing anti-corruption reforms in Ukraine

Mar 25, 2026 | 11:30 AM - 1:30 PM

closed-door, by invitation only

Description

Ukraine became a member of the OECD Working Group on Bribery on 10 December 2025 and is expected to accede the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention in early 2026. This milestone was reached following an intensive legal reform process undertaken since 2022. However, accession to the OECD Anti-Bribery Convention is not an end of reforms and fight against corruption for Ukraine. Following accession Ukraine will be subject of rigorous monitoring under Phase 1 and Phase 2 evaluations by the WGB. Each of these phases will result in a set of recommendations to be implemented in Ukraine to closely align its legislative and enforcement framework with the Convention and the WGB best practices, as well as boost performance of anti-corruption bodies. The event will provide a platform for discussion between the Ukrainian government, civil society, business representatives, OECD Secretariat on steps that Ukraine will have to take to close legislative gaps beyond accession criteria, and to prepare for meaningful engagement with the WGB during upcoming evaluations.
