Description
Cristóbal Cobo is a Senior Education Specialist at the World Bank's Europe and Central Asia Education team, where he focuses on AI in education, digital skills, and the effective use of technology in middle- and low-income countries. He brings over two decades of experience at the intersection of learning innovation, human-centered technology, and education policy across both developed and developing countries.
Before joining the World Bank in 2019, he served as founding Director of the Center for Research at the Ceibal Foundation in Uruguay and spent five years as an Associate Researcher at the Oxford Internet Institute, University of Oxford. He also held academic roles at FLACSO Mexico and has delivered keynotes in over 30 countries across five continents.
Dr. Cobo has published four books and more than 80 academic articles. A native of Chile, he holds a Ph.D. in human-computer interaction from the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
