Policy expert in digital education and AI

Description

International expert, researcher and professor specialising in digital education, public policy and artificial intelligence in Latin America and the Caribbean, with over 20 years of experience across government, academia and international organisations. She holds a PhD in Creative Technologies from the University of Portsmouth and an MA in Documentary by Practice from the University of London. She led the adaptation of the European DigComp framework to the region (DigComp ALC), integrating artificial intelligence -including Generative AI- as a cross-cutting dimension for digital skills development, through an initiative funded by the European Commission and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ). Her work focuses on the effective use of technology and AI in education systems, bridging policy design, implementation and capacity building at scale, particularly in low-resource contexts. She is the author of publications on artificial intelligence in education and digital skills, with a focus on their implications for policy and practice in the region.
