Description
Dr. Lixiang Yan is an Assistant Professor at the Institute for Artificial Intelligence in Education, School of Education, Tsinghua University. His research sits at the intersection of Artificial Intelligence, Educational Technology, and Learning Analytics, focusing on how advanced computational and data-driven approaches can enhance human learning. His work centres on two main areas: the use of Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) to study collaborative learning through multimodal data such as spatial and audio signals, and research on generative AI in education, particularly human–AI collaboration, AI-supported learning analytics, and educational AI agents. His work has appeared in journals including Nature Human Behaviour, Nature Reviews Psychology, Computers & Education, and the British Journal of Educational Technology. He also contributes to the research community through editorial and service roles, including Guest Editor for BJET and JLA, Co-Chair of the PIP Track for AIED 2026, and Members-at-Large of SoLAR.
