Elena Pasquinellia
Office for Climate Education
Head of Research and Evaluation
Description
I am a philosopher by training, and since my doctorate I have been interested in the application of knowledge about cognition to areas of social interest - notably education. During my training I obtained a university degree (from the Faculty of Medicine) in rehabilitation for children with neuro-cognitive and motor disorders. I have been fortunate to be able to orient my work activities around my interests and values: to better use scientific knowledge to guide our actions, to work towards choices that take into account the facts, but also justice and respect towards others - all others.
I'm at present head of Research and Evaluation at the Office for Climate Education, following more than 10 years working in the domain of science education at La Main à la pâte.
I am an instructor at the Cogmaster (Master in cognitive science, ENS-PSL) and collaborate with various research initiatives run at Institut Jean Nicod (ENS-PSL,EHESS,CNRS) in the domain of critical thinking education and the education to scientific topics with societal interest, in collaboration with Roberto Casati and other researchers.
Since its creation I am member of the Scientific Council of the French Ministry of Education, leading the working group on education for critical thinking.
