Biography
Dr. Jin Ho Verdonschot currently is Chief Science Officer and leads the independent Dutch Knowledge Centre Legal Aid System. It was established by the ministry of Justice and Security, Legal Aid Board, Legal Services Counters, Netherlands Bar Association, and Mediators Federation Netherlands. The Knowledge Centre has the assignment is to feed politics, policy and administration with knowledge and data.
The Knowledge Centre monitors, evaluates, and researches how well the Dutch legal aid system works for citizens, professionals, and society. This includes permanent large-scale monitoring of experiences of citizens with legal aid providers, procedures, actors, and outcomes; sustainable organization of legal aid providers in the legal aid system and broader level of the supply of legal aid compared to the (implicit) need, adequacy of compensation of legal aid providers, and legal quality delivered by legal aid providers.
During the past decades, Jin Ho Verdonschot worked in the domain of access to justice, legal aid and justice innovation as academic researcher, consultant, and private sector CEO.
