Description

Giulio Pasi is Policy Officer at the European Commission, where he deals with social investment policies, in particular through the design, negotiation and implementation of financial instruments. He is a professor of global economics at the Loyola University of Seville and teaches within the Master in Public Affairs of SciencesPo Paris. Previously he was Scientific Officer at the Joint Research Center of the European Commission, where he extensively worked on social innovation, new financial engineering and the relationship between public policies and new markets or industries, as well as the social and institutional consequences of digital transformation. Throughout his career he has also gained extensive experience in policy evaluation, measurement techniques, impact assessment and management, strategic foresight and future studies. His main interests concern the emergence of new paradigms of economic action and the related institutionalization processes, thus focusing on the interactions between finance, technology and society. Graduated summa cum laude in law from the University of Pavia, he has a PhD in Economics and Social Sciences (joint program between the University Institute of Advanced Studies of Pavia and the Scuola Superiore Sant'Anna of Pisa). He has published in several peer-reviewed journals, is regularly invited as a speaker at numerous events both in Europe and globally, and is a member of several scientific committees, taskforces and advisory boards (Oxford, OECD, Bureau of Entrepreneurial Finance, etc.).
