Jennifer Cleversey Moffitt is a corporate law specialist and resilient team leader dedicated to ensuring equity and inclusion in all aspects of business decision-making. Since 2020, Jennifer has helped lead the creation and implementation of the Belledune Port Authority’s 30-year industrial redevelopment plan focused on green energy projects while strengthening relationships with stakeholders, Indigenous rights holders, partners and clients. While overseeing the Port’s legal affairs, Jennifer also leads a team responsible for administration, finance, business analysis, research, marketing and communications, along with stakeholder and rights holder engagement. Jennifer specializes in corporate, commercial and administrative law and was admitted to the bar in Nova Scotia (2004) and New Brunswick (2005). Prior to her role with the Port, Jennifer worked for many years in the court system and on administrative tribunals. In 2015, she was appointed Vice-Chair of the New Brunswick Workers’ Compensation Appeals Tribunal and in 2017, she was appointed a Member of the Federal Social Security Tribunal, Appeal Division. She is a published author/editor in the areas of employment and labour law, municipal law, human rights and sale, distribution & transport of goods legislation. She holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Arts, majoring in Political Science, as well as a Master of Business Administration all from Dalhousie University. Jennifer holds the role of Vice-Chair of the Board of Directors of the Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, also serving on its governance committee. She also sits on the Law Society of New Brunswick’s Climate Change Task Force and serves on both the Atlantic Hydrogen Alliance board and New Brunswick Energy Cluster board. In 2023, she was a finalist in the Canadian Bar Association’s Canadian Corporate Counsel Association national award recognizing Canadian In-House legal excellence.
