Biography
Alejandro Fernández is Area Manager at the Office of the Director General for Digital Transformation of Justice of Spain, at the Ministry of the Presidency, Justice and Relations with Parliament of the country. Member of the Superior Corps of ICT of the Spanish State Administration since 2023, when he achieved the third highest entrance grade of the Corps’ XXVIII Class, Alejandro is a former manager of the criminal records IT system of Spain. Nowadays, among other responsibilities, Alejandro serves as the Director General’s liaison for international affairs, a role in which he coordinates initiatives such as diplomatic and commercial missions, study visits, or Spain’s organizing committee for the 2025 OECD Global Roundtable on Equal Access to Justice. Furthermore, Alejandro also serves as Scientific Expert in Cyberjustice and AI at the CEPEJ - Council of Europe, as Co-chair in The World Bank’s Digital Justice Working Group or as international expert for the digital transformation of Justice in the Philippines.
Alejandro is a physics graduate from Complutense University of Madrid, Master of Research in Experimental Sciences by Pompeu Fabra University and Master in Innovation Economics and Management from Autónoma University of Madrid. In his university years, Alejandro founded the Students’ Group of the Spanish Royal Physics Society, which he leaded for its first five years of existence. The impact achieved with this organization earned him the Honorific Mention in Science and Technology in Spain’s National Youth Awards 2022.
