Biography

Ivan CRNČEC is State Secretary in the Ministry of Justice, Public Administration and Digital Transformation of the Republic of Croatia. Before, he was Assistant Minister in the Directorate for European Affairs, International and Judicial Cooperation of the Ministry of Justice for 7 years, Director General at the Organization of the Judiciary Directorate of the Ministry of Justice for two years Director General at the Criminal Law Directorate of the Ministry of Justice for one year, Adviser to the Minister and Head of Sector for Cooperation with the International Criminal Courts of the Ministry of Justice for 2 years and held several positions within the Municipal Prosecutor's Office in Zagreb for 7 years. He performed other functions in the past such as Croatian Delegate to the Coordinating Committee in the area of police and judicial cooperation in criminal matters (CATS) and president of numerous working groups for drafting various laws. He was also Team leader and Justice Reform Expert in several EU and Council of Europe projects. At the moment he is Vice-President of the European Commission for the Efficiency of Justice (CEPEJ) and president of the Council for the Suppression of Corruption.
