Biography

Niall Collins TD is Minister of State with responsibility for International Law, Law Reform, and Youth Justice at the Department of Justice, a role he has held since January 2025. Previously, he served as Minister of State for Skills and Further Education at the Department of Further and Higher Education, Research, Innovation and Science from 2020 to 2025. He has been a TD for Limerick since 2007, representing Limerick County and formerly Limerick West constituencies. Before his election to Dáil Éireann, he served on Limerick County Council for the Bruff local electoral area, having been elected in 2004. A qualified accountant, Minister Collins has worked with Ernst & Young and as a part-time lecturer in accounting and auditing at Limerick Institute of Technology. He also served as deputy CEO of the Shannon Regional Fisheries Board prior to his election to the Dáil.
