Description
Mari Cruz Vicente Peralta. Confederal Secretary for Trade Union Action, CCOO Born in 1958. She studied high school and administrative studies in Vitoria-Gasteiz.
In 1979 she started working in a metal company and in the trade union elections of 1980 she was elected to the CCOO works council. After working full time as a trade unionist in 1980 and 1982, she left her company in 1983 to lead the Álava metal workers' union and to become a member of the executive of the Álava Provincial Union of CCOO. In 1987 she was elected Secretary for Trade Union Action of the Metal Federation of the Basque Country. In 1991, at the 5th congress of CCOO Euskadi, she became a member of the confederal executive of CCOO Euskadi and took on the responsibility of leading the union in Álava, a position she held until 2013. After the 10th congress, she became the Secretary for Trade Union Action, Institutional Action and coordination of the public area of CCOO Euskadi, and after the 11th congress, she became the head of the Trade Union Action, Employment and Professional Qualification Secretariats.
Since the 10th congress, she has also been a member of the Economic and Social Council (CES VASCO) and the Basque Labour Relations Council, participating on the boards of directors of the complementary social welfare entities (EPSV) GEROA and ITZARRI and in the assembly of ELKARKIDETZA. She also sits on the boards of the LANBIDE public employment service and the Basque Vocational Training Council. In June 2018, she left her responsibilities in the Basque Country to join the Confederal Executive Committee of the CCOO Trade Union Confederation, where she was elected Secretary for Trade Union Action.
