Description

Mylaine Des Rosiers is a lawyer and an experienced federal regulator specialized in the transportation sector: she is working for the Government of Canada, Department of Transport with the Safety and Security Group. Called to the Quebec Bar in 1993 after obtaining her LL. L from the University of Ottawa, she focused her legal practice on litigation and taught law at the Law Faculty, Ottawa University, and the Quebec Bar School. She joined the Federal Government in 2001 as a civil aviation regulator for Transport Canada. In 2018, she led the development and publication of the Regulatory Roadmap on Innovation and Investment for the transportation sector: during that time, she created the Transport Canada Office of Regulatory Policy and Innovation and led a team of dedicated regulators mandated to modernize regulatory frameworks and address regulatory barriers to innovation in the transportation sector. Mylaine is invited regularly as a speaker to international panels where she promotes innovative regulatory approaches, such as the use of digital technology and analytics to improve regulatory design and performance measurement.
