Description
Veronica L. Taylor is an international lawyer and socio-legal scholar of regulation. She is internationally known for her work on legal and regulatory reform in Asia, legal actors and rule of law. Within Australia, she has contributed new thinking on professionalising regulatory practice and evaluating regulatory impact.
Since 2021, she has been an expert advisor to the Australian government's regulatory reform team (Department of Finance) and senior academic advisor to the National Regulators' Community of Practice (NRCoP). She led the development of RegValue 1.0, a new tool for evaluating regulatory impact through measuring value as well as burden.
She is currently a Chief Investigator in the Radiation Innovation Centre (RadInnovate), an Australian Research Council and industry-funded research training centre. She leads the pillar focusing on the regulation and social legitimacy of nuclear materials and technologies.
